THE FOOD

Root & Stem has built a reputation on approachable, gourmet, farm-to-table cuisine. We’re known for our ability to customize menus to every dietary need or restriction, as well as our superior execution of a diverse array of cuisines that’s as beautifully presented as it is delicious to eat. We’re capable of menu planning for parties of any formality and size. Need a wedding cake? We’ve got the (baked) goods.

Types of Cuisine: New American, Traditional American; Italian, Spanish, French, Greek, and Mediterranean; German and Eastern European cuisines; Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese cuisines; Asian Fusion; Mexican, El Salvadorean, and Central American; Southern, Southwestern, and Creole.

Dietary Accommodations: Our staff is well-versed and able to accommodate the big 9 allergens (wheat/gluten, egg, peanut, shellfish, fish, milk, soy, nuts, and tree nuts) as well as special diets such as vegan, vegetarian, paleo, Kosher, and Halal diets.

THE BAR

We are fully licensed for the DMV area to serve alcoholic beverages for your special events. Ask us about our specialty cocktails, which we invent for each of our clients to keep the party going. Combined with our outgoing, multi-tasking bar staff, your Root & Stem bar is guaranteed to bubble up the fun.

Fully Stocked: Whether you’re looking for a beer and wine bar, full bar, or premium upgrade, our events team provides you with the bar setup you’re looking for. Root & Stem bars come fully equipped with bar rentals, linens, risers, ice and ice tubs, mixers, glassware, napkins, and more. Rest assured that our bartenders will have your guests’ every beverage desire accommodated for your event!

Don’t drink on empty: We give your guests our complimentary, house-made sweet potato chips and everything-seasoned bar nuts to munch on while they imbibe.

Our staff is well-trained, and furthermore, well-known to us; we won’t just have anyone working your events. We hand pick our chefs, waiters, and bartenders, train them thoroughly, and provide continued employee feedback and training to ensure the most polished events possible, whether it be your intimate family dinner or your gala for hundreds.

Service for your every event: Every Root and Stem wedding features an Event Captain guiding your waiters for superior execution of service. We provide on-site chefs, bartenders, coat check staff, and our network of talented vendors means we can supply so much more, such as oyster shucking, baristas, and more!

Your event specialist will ensure that your team of event professionals and staff will create a flawless event worthy of your most memorable day.  We perform site walkthroughs and coordinate with all vendors for seamless delivery of service. Your event specialist will coordinate timelines, staffing, rental pickup and delivery, arrangement with floor plans, and more to make sure your event runs smoothly. Most importantly, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy knowing you’re in capable, trustworthy hands.
